and ride the local's longboat along the Melinau River to Fastlane cave.
Day 1 - Caving The Showcaves
START TIME: 02:00 pm
Meet and greet by our friendly representative guide at Mulu park office and proceed to Deer Cave which is
reached by following a three-kilometer plank walk, on the way to the cave you'll see the superb rainforest,
jungle streams, and an ancient Penan burial cave. Deer Cave's visit is combined with Lang’s Cave, whose
entrance is a short distance away. Lang’s Cave is the smallest of the show caves but its rock formations are
well worth seeing. These are made all the more attractive by the strategically positioned spotlights which
highlight stalactites and stalagmites. After exploring the caves, proceed to bats observatory to observe
bats flying out of caves entrance in the late afternoon. Between 5 and 7 pm, if the weather is fine,
visitors may be treated to the spectacular sight of a black cloud of free-tailed bats emerging from the
entrance of the cave to go in search of food. Return journey on the same plank walk to park headquarters.
Day 2 - Canopy Walk & Fastlane Underground Adventure
START TIME: 07:00/08:30 am
Meet your guide and proceed to Mulu Canopy Walk which is one of the longest tree-based canopies walks in
the world. This 480-meter walkway suspended 25 meters above the forest floor and the walks in the lush
treetop with tranquil river views and compare the vegetation of riverine forest floor to the understory, the
treetops, and nearby limestone cliffs. A unique opportunity to get closer to the pristine rainforest ‘web of
life’. The total distance is about 6 km and will spend about 2 hours around here before back to your
accommodation and have your lunch.
START TIME: 02:00 pm
Meet your guide and take a short longboat ride along the Melinau River. Continue with a 10-20 minute walk
through the rainforest and climb up the steps to the cave entrance which brings you to the start of a 1,5km
underground adventure. This walk will take about 2 and a half hours and the cave fauna is easily seen at the
beginning of this adventure. The cave has contained huge volumes of pre-historic sediments, including a
volcanic ash layer and as it becomes larger, some of the best formations are presented to you via stunning
